01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Paris’ 9th arrondissement, Choy is a Japanese restaurant that promises an authentic culinary journey brimming with delicate flavors and heartfelt hospitality. Located at 57 Rue de Clichy, this gem exudes an inviting atmosphere that instantly welcomes you to unwind and indulge in its exquisite menu.

Choy’s cuisine is a celebration of traditional Japanese fare with a refined Parisian touch. Diners frequently rave about the restaurant’s standout dishes, particularly the rich and aromatic laksa, a favorite that has captured the hearts of both locals and visitors alike. The menu offers a range of carefully crafted dishes that deliver an explosion of umami with each bite — from fresh, silky sashimi to perfectly balanced rice bowls and soul-soothing broths. Each dish is a sensory delight, where vibrant colors, fresh ingredients, and delicate seasoning come together to create meals that are as beautiful as they are flavorful.

The dining experience at Choy extends beyond the plate. From the moment you arrive, the warmth and politeness of the staff make you feel like a cherished guest. As Archana Jayant enthusiastically shares, “The lady who takes the order is the sweetest and very polite,” underscoring the genuine attentiveness that elevates your meal into a memorable occasion. Marcel M echoes this sentiment by highlighting that despite its modest exterior, every dish offers a feast for the palate, reaffirming that this is a place where Japanese enthusiasts will find true satisfaction.

While portions are described as modest by some, such as Gracee, the quality and flavor intensity more than compensate, encouraging you to savor every morsel slowly. The pricing is considered reasonable, especially for the generous hospitality and consistent excellence you can expect. Stella Stars fondly notes the approachable friendliness despite any language barriers, adding a charming human touch that enhances the overall ambiance.

Whether you’re seeking a reliable weeknight favorite or a special destination to delve into authentic Japanese tastes, Choy stands as a wholehearted recommendation. It invites you not just to eat, but to experience the passion and care interwoven in each dish, creating memories that linger long after the last bite.

For reservations or inquiries, you can reach Choy at +33 9 87 03 39 91, and prepare yourself to embark on a delightful Japanese culinary adventure right in the heart of Paris.

Great food and drinks, tapioca pearls are just awesome. I really enjoyed my amazing poke bowl and would recommend it to everyone. The only minus was the waiter’s little knowledge of english which made it kinda hard to communicate.
